Equipped with undisputable skills and uplifting determination, the
Holy Angel University (HAU) Chorale soared as the 1st Runner-up in
Musica EUROPA 6, the annual Far Eastern University (FEU) / European
Union (EU) Choral Competition in the Philippines held last May 22 and 23
at the FEU auditorium.
HAU Chorale was among the various choral groups that vied for the
title in the two division-choral competitions which featured two
categories – the High School Choir Category for secondary level school
choral groups and the Open Choir Category for colleges, university,
church, company, government and other adult choirs.
Other than HAU Chorale’s triumphant success, Philippine Normal
University won as 2nd runner up while the University of Philippine Los
Baños (UPLB) was hailed as the grand champion in the open choir
category. Meanwhile, the Boscorale of Don Bosco – Grand Champion, the
Imus Institute –up, and Pitch Choir – 1st Runner and Makati the Himig
Roseña of Colegio de Santa Rosa Makati – 2nd runner up emerged
victorious for the high school category.
FEUROPA is held to coincide with the Filipinas Heritage and European
Union (EU) Months. It has steadily grown in size and stature since its
inception four year s ago. The choral competition is part of Viva Europa
2012 European Union Cultural Showcase to promote shared cultural
heritage of the EU with the Philippines.
