The
book MILK PIGS AND VIOLET GOLD has just won the 2014 National Book
Award (Food category)! Published by the HAU Center for Kapampangan
Studies, the three-in-one (separate books for Luzon, Visayas and
Mindanao) is authored by Bryan Koh, a
young food writer who earned a Mathematics degree at the National
University of Singapore and studied HRM at Cornell. The book comes in
two editions (one for Singapore and the other for the Philippines), the
latter designed by Leonardo Calma of CKS. There is a whole chapter on
Kapampangan cuisine, which Bryan wrote in collaboration with friends
from CKS and Pampanga, including Alex Castro, Francis Musni, Poch
Jorolan and Atsing Lillian Borromeo. Congratulations to all of us!
