The Holy Angel University (HAU) Chorale, together with the Tarlac
Chamber Choir, won an International award Gold 3 in the Mixed Choir
Competition during the Singapore International Chorale Festival,
Celebrating Cultural Diversity Orientale Concentus VII last July 9-13 at
the School of the Arts (SOTA) Singapore.
The current edition of this festival attracted close to 2000
participants from 40 to 50 choirs around the world. The Chorale
Competition seeks to raise social awareness and promotes civic
mindedness among the youth participants.
Orientale Concentus, conceptualized in 2008 with the purpose of
promoting youth choral music development and international arts and
cultural exchange, has seen a successful run across China, Taiwan and
South Korea. Participants in the earlier editions not only hail from
host countries, but also from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and even
United Kingdom.
